Tripoli denies news of MoU to settle migrants in Libya
Tripoli - Arab Today

Spokesman for the Libyan government Ashraf al Thulthi has dismissed as baseless claims that a memorandum of understanding signed between his country and Italy was meant to settle illegal immigrants in Libya.

The MoU stresses support for the Libyan military and security establishments with the aim to stop the influx of illegal immigrants, Thulthi said Saturday.

There was no mention of the settling of illegal immigrants in Libya whether directly or indirectly, the spokesman assured.

The MoU has already gone into force and will be effective for three years, he noted.
