The Qatari Emir holds official talks with Mauritanian President

HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani left Nouakchott this afternoon after and an official visit to Mauritania. HH the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and Mauritanian President Sidi Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz held a round of official talks at the Presidential Palace in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott, here on Thursday afternoon. The talks were attended by Their Excellencies the members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Emir. While attending on the Mauritanin side were a number of Their Excellencies the ministers and senior officials. During their talks, the two sides reviewed ties of joint cooperation and discussed a set of regional and international issues of mutual concern. HH the Emir arrived in Nouakchott at noon Thursday on a state visit to the brotherly Islamic Republic of Mauritania and red- carpet reception ceremonies were accorded to HH the Emir on arrival. Later HH the Emir and the Mauritanian President witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement on legal cooperation, a second on judicial cooperation, a third on cooperation on Islamic affairs and awqaf (endowments), a fourth on cultural cooperation, a fifth on the use or recruitment of the Mauritanian labourers in the State of Qatar, a sixth on cooperation on sanitation field and the later on environment and sustainable development cooperation. The two leaders also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation, another on mining cooperation, a third on cooperation in agriculture and veterinary, a fourth signed between Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and the Central Bank of Mauritania (BCM) and a later one for a hotel establishment and real estate development in the capital Nouakchott. They also witnessed the signing of the first executive progamme of the 2012-2013-2014 media accord. Following the signing ceremonies, the Mauritanian President hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation. HH the Emir of Qatar Arrives in Nouakchott HH the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani arrived in Nouakchott at noon Thursday for a state visit to the brotherly Islamic Republic of Mauritania. HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Nouakchott International Airport by Mauritanian President Sidi Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz. Also on hand to welcome HH the Emir and the accompanying delegation were Mauritanian Prime Minister Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf and a number of Their Excellencies the ministers, ranking civil and military officials, Their Excellencies the ambassadors accredited to Mauritania and Qatar's Ambassador to Mauritania HE Mohamed Kurdi Taleb Al Marri. A red-carpet reception ceremony was accorded to HH the Emir. HH the Emir is accompanied by a high profile official delegation.
