Thai PM to visit Mozambique

Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will have an official visit to the Republic of Mozambique, according to the Thai Foreign Ministry. At the invitation of Mozambique's President Armando Emilio Gu buza, Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will pay an official visit to Mozambique from Sunday to Tuesday, July 28-30. This visit will mark the first ever visit to Mozambique by Thai premier, as well as kick-start Prime Minister Yingluck's first official visits to African countries comprising Mozambique, Tanzania and Uganda. On Sunday, the two leaders will have a bilateral meeting on agriculture, infrastructure development, energy, public health, human resources development and gemology. The Thai prime minister will also extend an invitation to the Mozambican president to participate in the high level dialogue between Thai and African leaders in 2014 as part of Thailand's " Thai - African Initiative", aiming to enhance partnership between Asia and Africa. Yingluck will also meet the Mozambique Parliament Speaker to discuss ways and means to promote bilateral cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries. Yingluck and Gubuza will preside over the signing ceremony of bilateral agreements in the areas of technical cooperation, visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, tourism, trade and economic cooperation, civil aviation, food security, trade and investment in agricultural products and commodities, among others. On Monday, the two leaders will attend and deliver remarks at a business forum, which will be attended by major Thai and Mozambican entrepreneurs. The Thai premier will later leave Mozambique for Tanzania and Uganda respectively.
