Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to pay an official visit to India from Tuesday to Thursday to attend the celebration of Republic Day in New Delhi on Thursday, government spokeswoman Thitima Chaisaeng said on Monday. Thitima said the prime minister would take this opportunity to boost the confidence of Indian investors in the Thai economy and brief Indian officials on Thailand's post-flood rehabilitation and reconstruction plans, in a bid to upgrade their bilateral ties to a strategic partnership. Thai PM will meet with her Indian counterpart to discuss the completion of Thai-Indian Free Trade Agreement this year and establishment of regional cooperation through culture, religion, education and tourism, said the spokeswoman. The Foreign Ministry and Board of Investment also invited Thai investors to join the prime minister's entourage, added Thitima.
