Islamabad - Irna

US investigation agency (FBI) has removed name of Afghan Taliban Leader Mullah Mohammad Omar from list of its most wanted persons, a media report said here Wednesday. The daily ‘The News’ reported that the US had set a $10 million prize as the head money to provide information about Mullah Omar, but now, his name has been removed from the list of the most wanted persons and from the FBI’s website. According to report the US took this step to pave the way to hold talks with the Taliban. The FBI’s most wanted persons also includes the names of the Chief of Al-Qaeda Ayman Zawahiri and the Head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban Hakimullah Mehsood. Last week, the US officials confirmed that they had held talks recently with Taliban representatives in Qatar and Germany. Mullah Omar, the founder of the Taliban movement, has been in hiding since the 2001 US-led invasion of Afghanistan toppled his Naïve regime.
