The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces has urged Syrians in Egypt not to interfere in the country's domestic affairs. In a statement on Saturday, the coalition said Syrians should stay out of Egyptian politics and stay away from the flashpoints of demonstrations and sit-ins. It, meanwhile, asked Egyptian authorities to offer all possible facilities to Syrians staying in Egypt and lift restrictions on Syrians' entry into Egypt as soon as possible. The Egyptian government has decided to give Syrians free entry visas. During a recent visit to Egypt, Syrian opposition leader Ahmed Assi Jarba said Egyptian officials had told him that recent measures on the entrance of Syrians were "temporary". Few days after the powerful army ousted elected President Mohammed Morsi on July 3, Egyptian authorities issued new measures requiring Syrians to obtain paid visas and security clearance in advance. Under Morsi, Egypt’s first democratically elected president, Syrians were allowed into the country without such requirements.
