Missile lock-on systems deployed in Syria harassed two Turkish F-16 fighter jets which were conducting air patrols along Turkey-Syria border, Turkish General Staff said on Thursday. The two jets were directed towards Turkey-Syria border region when a Syrian SU-24 aircraft approached Turkey's airspace. Syrian aircraft left the area without violating Turkish airspace. Syrian missile lock-on systems harassed the jets by tracking them for five minutes above the southern Turkish province of Hatay, the statement added. Missile lock-on is the guidance system for a missile can accurately track a target, and a fire-control system can calculate the required flight path for the missile to intercept the target.
