Tehran - FNA

The Syrian army killed several ringleaders of Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist groups in Reef (outskirts of) Lattakia in the Western parts of Syria, and destroyed their bases. The army killed the Saudi ringleader of Ahad Army terrorist group, Adbelrahman al-Ansari, in Rabieh village of Reef Lattakia and destroyed his bases in the region, FNA dispatches said Sunday. The Syrian army also killed the ringleader of Kataeb al-Haq terrorist group known as Anwar Kour and a notorious Yemeni terrorist named Osam al-Mola in heavy clashes in al-Halweh village in Northern Reef Lattakia. Meantime, the army killed Abdelsalam al-Haresi, a Saudi ringleader of the al-Nusra Front terrorist group, along with a large number of his militant forces in al-Sokrieh village of Reef Lattakia. Ahmad Movafaq, Omran al-Shami and Abu Mohamad al-Taraki, all from Saudi Arabia, as well as three Bosnian snipers were among the terrorists killed in al-Sokrieh village. In Salmi village in Reef Lattakia, the Syrian army killed Mohammad al-Taravaneh, a Jordanian al-Qaeda leader, and Egyptian national Khaled al-Arabi. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and foreign-backed terrorist groups against not just the Syrian police, border guard and army troops, but also people being reported across the country. Tens of thousands of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed since some protest rallies turned into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad. In October 2011, calm was almost restored in the Arab state after President Assad started a reform initiative in the country, but Israel, the US and its Arab allies sought hard to bring the country into chaos through any possible means. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been staging various plots to topple President Bashar al-Assad, who is well known in the world for his anti-Israeli stances.
