Sources close to the so-called Syrian National Coalition (SNC) said three Arab countries are going to set up a one-billion-dollar fund to gather financial support for the anti-government armed groups in Syria. SNC leader Ahmad Jarba has been meeting regional Arab leaders and has been promised to receive support from at least three countries, an article published in the Saudi Al Watan newspaper wrote Monday, Al-Alam reported. According to the report, it has been decided to use the source to provide military needs of the anti-Syria groups. The source was quoted as saying that the SNC will announce setting up the fund soon. Regional and western supporters of the bloody insurgency in Syria continue their support as the conflict is showing ugly faces of terrorism and hatred crimes, taking tens of victims every day in the country. The crisis in Syria started in March 2011, when pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states. The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history. As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists. Washington has remained indifferent about warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
