Swiss Charge D’Affaires to Tehran Georg Steiner was on Friday summoned to Foreign Ministry in absence of Swiss Ambassador as the US interests caretaker. The Press Department at Foreign Ministry said the summoning followed the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s disclosure of the US role in terrorist activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran and presentation of related documents by Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili to today’s ceremonies marking National Day of Campaign against Global Arrogance. Head of Foreign Ministry’s North American Affairs Department told the Swiss envoy in the meeting that the Islamic Republic of Iran has solid evidence at hand that the US government had a role and supported those involved in terrorist activities against Iran, including its officials and scientists. He said such a US approach is in blatant contradiction with international commitments of the country. “So, Washington must stop intervention in internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran through the said terrorist activities as soon as possible.” Regarding undoubtful nature of the said documents, the US government would be held accountable for any terrorist activities against the Iranian officials and targets, he added. Having been informed of Iranian government’s stances, the Swiss diplomat stressed that he would reflect the issue to Washington and announce whatever result to the Foreign Ministry. The Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Livia Leu Agosti had on Thursday been summoned to Foreign Ministry too following a session in the US House of Representatives on assassination of Iranian officials.
