Suspected Taliban militants have killed two Pakistani soldiers in Bajaur tribal region, security sources said Thursday. The gunmen attacked a vehicle of the security forces early Thursday when the paramilitary soldiers were on a routine patrolling, security sources said. Officials said that four other soldiers were also injured when militants attacked their vehicle at Qamar area, some 40 kilometers from Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur. The gunmen fled the area after the attack. The security forces also conducted a search operation for the arrests of the miscreants, officials said. No group claimed responsibility. The Pakistani forces conducted major operation against the Taliban militants in Bajaur in 2008-2009 and cleared most of the region from the militants. However, Taliban militants are hiding in mountains and carry out hit-and-run attacks on the forces and pro-government tribesmen. Bajaur, bordering Afghanistan, is one of Pakistan's seven militants-infested tribal regions.
