
Secretary-General of the Lebanese Ummah Movement Abdul Nasser al Jabri thanked the Iranian people and government for their support for the Lebanese nation, specially for Islamic resistance. In a statement on Wednesday, al-Jabri hailed assistance of Iran and Syria in 33-day war victory to thwart Israeli aggression on Lebanon in 2006. The Sunni Muslim leader made the remarks in a statement to mark the 7th anniversary of victory of Resistance in 33-day war to thwart Israeli aggression on Lebanon. He underlined that support of Iran and Syria played a significant role in the historical victory. He also thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for involvement in reconstruction of Lebanon after the war, saying Iran has always stood by Lebanese people even in the most difficult periods. In relevant remarks in June, Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour also thanked the Iranian people and government for their support for the Lebanese nation. Mansour made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in Tehran at the time. “The people of Lebanon consider the Islamic Republic of Iran as a brother country by their side that has always rushed to assist them at times of need,” he added. Mansour also appreciated the basic stands of the Islamic Republic of Iran about the regional developments, and particularly on Syria.
