A state of emergency is declared on Tuesday across the Magadan region. The corresponding decree was issued by acting governor of the region Vladimir Pecheny, the press service of the regional administration reported. This decision was taken because the cyclone moving across Kolyma has caused heavy rainfall. As a result, the local rivers started to overflow the banks, water flows are flooding houses, destroying roads and bridges, causing blackouts in the villages. There was a dam break in the Ust-Omchug settlement in the Tenkinsky district on the Detrin River overnight, as a result of which 15 private houses were flooded, the water in them is 20 cm above the floor. The dwellers - 32 people, were evacuated by boats and accommodated at their relatives and friends. In the Olsk district, the Sukhaya River washed out the regional road in several places. Water is filling the basements of houses in the district’s populated localities. Rescuers are preparing to evacuate people to temporary accommodation centers in the Olya, Arman and Tauysk settlements. In the Susumansky district, flood waters have washed out several sections of the Magadan - Yakutsk federal road and damaged a bridge on the 528th km of the road. According to the district head, Fyodor Trenkenshu, there is no passage between the city of Susuman and Yagodnoye settlement, it is necessary to build a temporary bridge there, which will take 2-3 days. In the Khasynsky district, children have been evacuated from the Green Island recreation centre. On Tuesday, the work is underway to strengthen the banks of rivers in all the localities of Kolyma, which are threatened with rainfall flood.
