South Korean, Japanese FM to meet in New York

Foreign ministers of South Korea and Japan plan to hold bilateral talks this week in New York on the sidelines of a United Nations assembly, with Seoul expected to call on Tokyo to face up to history for better relations, the South Korea's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se is scheduled to sit down for talks with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida in New York on Thursday on the sidelines of a UN General Assembly meeting, according to South Korea's (Yonhap) News Agency. On the table this time will be on how to mend frosty relations between Seoul and Tokyo, among others, according to officials. The planned talks will be the second meeting between the two after their first in Brunei in July on the margins of the ASEAN Regional Forum.
