Johannesburg - XINHUA

The South African government remains vigilant against the terrorism, taking terror incidences seriously, said a security spokesperson on Monday. As a global phenomenon, the terrorism is being taken seriously by every country, the spokesperson of Ministry of State Security Brian Dube said in Pretoria. These words came following the report said that a British woman dubbed the White Widow with an illegally-acquired South African passport was suspected to be behind the bloody Kenyan mall terror attack on Sept. 21 that killed over 60 people, including a South African and injured more than 170 others. On Friday the Interpol issued a red notice warrant for the terror suspect White Widow, urging all 190 members to assist in tracking her down and arresting her. Brian Dube said that the South African government would conduct its own assessments in maintaining the national security interests. On Thursday South Africa's Minister of Home Affairs Naledi Pandor said that her department would launch further investigations into the White Widow passport case, including how the suspect could finally acquire the passport in the country. Stressing that the South African government would cooperate with the international community to thwart any potential threat of terror, Brian Dube said "we will continue to work with countries not only in Africa but the rest of the world to share critical information about terrorism threats."
