
Lebanon's former Prime Minister, Fouad Siniora, has hailed U.A.E.'s leadership and people for their constant humanitarian efforts for every distressed and the underprivileged people across the world. " For a long time, the U.A.E. has been supporting all the relief programmes and projects of the poor segments in and outside Lebanon, thus this emphasises the strong fraternal relations and enhances the aspects of mutual respect between the U.A.E. and Lebanon." Siniora underscored. These remarks came after the assistance extended by the U.A.E. as per directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the United Arab Emirates Red Crescent Authority (RCA), to the Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) in Beirut, which is deemed the first therapeutic and reference hospital and one of the most important medical and educational facilities in Lebanon. Siniora added that the Hospital, for seven years, has secured medical treatment for over 160,000 poor patients inside Lebanon and more than one million medical services for other patients, in addition to more than 400,000 displaced Syrian patients. On his part, Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, Secretary General, UAE Red Crescent Authority, affirmed that the directives of the prudent leadership, are to meet the humanitarian duty and provide assistance to the needy people all over the world. He added "The directives of the higher leadership of the RCA urge aid workers to bolster the efforts of the RCA's charitable and humanitarian efforts and secure the necessary needs of the affectees, consequently, this embodies the strength humanitarian values of the Emiratis."
