The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia demanded the United Nations Security Council of commitment to its historic, humanitarian and moral responsibilities, so as the world should not lose its hope and confidence in the institutions of joint international action. This came in the Saudi Arabia' speech which was delivered by Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahiya Al-Mua'lemi, the Kingdom 's permanent representative to the United Nations, before the UN Security Council session allocated periodically to discuss the situation in the Middle East. He said: "For more than 60 years, the Security Council is still considering the tragedy of the Palestinian people while Israel continues its violation of international laws and denial of the rights of the Palestinian people with the continuity of their suffering in the absence of achieving a solution of this conflict and failure to translate the resolutions of the United Nations confirming the rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of its State into reality on the ground, a matter reflects negatively on the entire Middle East region and the international peace and security," He pointed to allowing Israel to continue its settlement policies, detain thousands of prisoners, violate the sanctity of holy places, displace Palestinians, especially in Al-Quds, and continue its policy of racism and ethnic cleansing in front of the Security Council and its inability to move to assume its responsibilities, put an end to the Israeli occupation which is the only existing occupation in the world after the end of colonial eras and to reverse the policy of apartheid."
