Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Monday described the outcome of his regional tour which took him to Qatar and Iraq as very successful. Speaking to IRNA, he said Iran favors expansion and consolidation of relations with its neighboring states through mutual dialogues, he said. Referring to his visit to Qatar, he said during talks with the country's high ranking officials the two sides discussed plots of enemies to create crisis and tension in the region. All should care about their national interests as well as durable peace and stability in the region, he said. On his visit to Iraq, Salehi said he held different meetings with the country’s senior officials on expansion of mutual relations and on regional developments, adding that the two sides took important decisions whose results will be declared in the future. After fall of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and formation of a new Iraq government, commonalities between the two nations have increased, he said.
