Beirut - KUNA

Prime minister designate Tammam Salam who is in charge of forming the new Lebanese government expressed his concern, Thursday, that the vacuum in the executive authority could have grave negative impact on the country's overall situation. After meeting with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, Salam said that forming the new government is impeded by different conditions and counter-conditions by political rivals in the country. There are various options and choices to form the government, he still stressed, adding that it is his responsibility to take the right steps to end this vacuum. Salam was voted to form the Lebanese government last April by 124 deputies out of 128 in the Lebanese Parliament. However, he is still to succeed in his mission due to the conflict between the political rivals regarding the nature and type of the new government.
