
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior yesterday awarded the First Class Rescue Medal to Emirati citizen Saeed Mohammed Hamad Al Owaid Al Muhairi, at the ministry’s headquarters.
This accolade is in recognition of UAE national Al Muhairi’s courage and his distinguished action, which reflect his positive sense of patriotism.
H.H. Sheikh Saif praised the bravery of the honoree, as well as his dedication and responsible demeanor, which allowed him to rescue a young girl at the Ras al-Khaimah beach. The young girl was suffering a near-drowning experience due to extreme fatigue and was being swept away by strong waves.
Sheikh Saif said: "This noble act of chivalry reflects the nobility of the UAE people, and their dedication to extend a helping hand to anyone who needs it." He called for further encouraging this noble and civilized spirit amongst all the sons and daughters of the UAE.
