S. Korea to Discuss with US, China, Russia on Follow-up Measures to New UN Sanction

South Korea will hold a series of high-level meetings with the US, China and Russia this month to discuss follow-up measures following the UN Security Council's adoption of a new round of sanctions on North Korea. 
An official at Seoul's foreign ministry said that South Korea will hold vice ministerial-level bilateral meetings with major countries involved in the six-party talks on the North's denuclearization. 
The official said the talks will focus on how to implement UNSC Resolution 2321 as well as response measures to possible additional provocations by North Korea, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) radio. 
Separately, the top nuclear envoys of South Korea, the US and Japan will hold a trilateral meeting in Seoul on December 13th to discuss their follow-up measures to the new UNSC sanctions. Seoul and Washington will also discuss how to coordinate their individual sanction measures on the North. 
Political observers said that if China and Russia join the discussions on how to implement the UNSC Resolution 2321, it will strengthen the international community's efforts to pressure the North to give up its nuclear program. 
The 15 UNSC members, including the North's close allies China and Russia, unanimously adopted Resolution 2321 on November 30th in response to Pyongyang's fifth nuclear test in September.
