Russia’s NATO envoy Alexander Grushko has stressed the need for developing a strategy to put Syria’s chemical weapons under international control. “Several NATO member-countries have expressed their readiness to provide their resources,” he told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. “Russia has already made clear its readiness to participate in the process. But concrete parameters of certain countries’ participation can be defined, when it becomes clear what should be done to fulfil the task formulated in the Geneva communique and fully supported by the Syrian government.” Grushko took part in the conference focusing on the state of and prospects for European-Russian cooperation. The Rome forum was organized by Italy’s Institute of Advanced Studies in Geopolitics and Auxiliary Sciences.
