Russia ready to participate in transporting, destroying Syrian chemical weapons

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said he did not rule out Russia's participation in the transport and destruction of Syrian chemical weapons. "Russian President Vladimir Putin initially proposed placing (Syrian chemical weapons) under international control. If our place in this scheme is determined - either as those who transport or destroy those weapons - naturally Russia will be ready to participate," Shoigu told reporters on Thursday on the sidelines of the Valdai Discussion Club, Voice of Russia reported.
