Russia is ready to assist Egypt in resuming the political process in the country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday after the talks with his Egyptian counterpart Nabil Fahmy. "We believe Egypt's people are able themselves to find right decisions to determine the future of the region's very important country," the Russian minister noted. "We are ready to provide all possible assistance in this, acting strictly from the position of non-interference in internal affairs and respect for Egypt's sovereignty," (Itar-Tass) quoted Lavrov as saying. "We will act so. We appreciate that our position is respected and understood in Cairo," he added. Lavrov said that in the talks they discussed development of military and technical cooperation and activities of the bilateral intergovernmental commission.
