
Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed in a phone conversation with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto bilateral ties and the settlement of the Syrian crisis, Tass news agency quoted the Kremlin press service as saying on Friday.
"Topical issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including the upcoming contacts at the highest and other levels, and also the events devoted to the 100th anniversary of Finland’s independence celebrated in 2017," the press service said.
Besides, there was an exchange of views on the situation around the settlement of the Syrian crisis and other international issues, the statement added.
