Just hours before re-elections in some polling stations of NA-250 were due to begin, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf central vice president was shot dead outside her house in Karachi. Zara Shahid Hussain was shot dead outside her house in Defence Phase IV late on Saturday evening, according to Pakistan's (Dunya News).
The motive of the attack could not be immediately ascertained. PTI leader Sheeren Mazari is of the view that PTI leaders are being harassed as they are receiving life threats from different channels.
She was the central vice president of the party and a member of the party's central executive committee. She was also the former president of the party's Sindh Women's wing.
