Charles, prince of Wales, has expressed his sincere sympathies to Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman in a message in which the British royal supported the Kingdom’s stance against the terrorist act in the holy city.
“I was so deeply distressed to learn of appalling atrocity at Madinah and wanted to send Your Royal Highness a message straight away to express my most heartfelt sympathy,” Charles wrote.
He said: “This murderous attack on one of Islam’s most holy sites is horrifying beyond measure. My thoughts and prayers are very much with you and your dear father, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, as you lead the emergency response.”
For his part, Prince Faisal bin Salman expressed his deep gratitude to Prince Charles for his kind message.
“The Islamic world was united in condemning the criminal attack which has only contributed to strengthening our unity and solidarity in the fight against extremism among our peoples,” Prince Faisal said in his reply.
“We work hand in hand to stop the security threat, posed by those extremists, to the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world, which hit the families of the innocent victims with deep sorrow and pain,” he added.
“We do appreciate your sincere words in these difficult situations and we will convey them honestly to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah protect him,” Prince Faisal said.
