
President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed held today a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in Syria.
Turkey's Anadolu Agency reported today that the two leaders also discussed bilateral ties, including further enhancement of relations and holding a High-Level Cooperation Council meeting in the near future, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu announced recently that the Astana talks between the Syrian government and the opposition will take place on January 23. He also said that the ceasefire in Syria was implemented on December 30 thanks to agreements between Russia and Turkey.
