President:Lebanon against foreign military intervention in Syria

 Lebanese President Michel Seliman said Friday that his country remains firmly against foreign military intervention in Syria.He made his remarks today during a meeting of the Higher Defense Council which discussed the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria.Seliman called on the United Nations to investigate the party responsible for the alleged use of chemical weapons and punish it. He also called on all foreign parties to neutralize Lebanon in any action that they might take against Syria.In a related development, the EU countries, which take part in G20 summit in St? Petersburg, failed to reach understanding on Syria, RTL TVI reported on Friday.Only France is ready to take part in the US military intervention, the television channel said.The leaders of Germany, Britain, France, Italy and the EU institutions said they were prepared to provide humanitarian support to the Syrian people by expanding assistance programmes to refugees, whose number exceeded six million people.
