President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi met Monday with British Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East and North Africa Alistair Burt, who arrived in Sana'a to follow up the implementation of the GCC-brokered initiative. During the meeting, President Hadi praised the concerns of the United Kingdom and the international community to bring Yemen out of difficult circumstances. The President described the comprehensive national dialogue as an excellent example as it is about to conclude in successfully following return of the southern movement and the south issue team in resuming their acts in the national dialogue committees. He also said that 75 percent of Yemeni population are young people and 6 million young people are unemployed. He pointed out that 795 military and security personnel will return to their works. He pointed out that Yemen relies on a constructive cooperation with Britain, EU, and the international community to assist Yemen during current "sensitive" circumstance in order to attain its aspirations in exiting this crucial circumstance and entering prospects of development and prosperity. For his part, the British official affirmed his country's continuous support to Yemen, specifically during this fateful period of the political transition stage. Burt said that Britain will support Yemen economically and humanely through providing a developmental program during the next three years, worth USD 300 million, as well as supporting counterterrorism in Yemen. He expressed his aspiration in taking part in the Friends of Yemen meeting, to be held in New York this month, noting that this meeting would reveal seriousness of tangible developments in Yemen, specifically concerning political and economic reformation.
