Several political parties' activists in the Governorate of Sidi Bouzid have unanimously condemned the recent events that took place in the region, causing large damage to a number of government offices. These parties, including notably Ennahdha, "Achaâb" movement, the democrat patriots' movement, published communiqués reaffirming support to local citizens after the smear and distortion campaigns the Governorate was subject to through several social networks and media, and commitment to peaceful protests. Besides, they insisted on the need to unmask the enemies of the revolution who made the most of the occasion to sow violence in the region after elections whose transparency and freedom were hailed by the whole world. These parties also denounced "any form of violence and vandalism likely to damage public and private property as well as any attempt to stir up ill-feeling and spread rumours", warning citizens of Sidi Bouzid against the risk of falling into the trap of "dissension", and urging them to "live up to their glorious past and protect the country and the Revolution against the enemies." The communiques stressed in conclusion the need for the authorities to fally assume their responsibility in identifying the instigators of violence .
