The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) underlined that Qatar, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are to be blamed for the current crisis in the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp near Damascus. “Qatar, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are mainly responsible for what is currently going on in Yarmouk refugee camp,” PFLP-GC’s Politbureau Chief Hessam Arafat said, addressing a press conference in Ramallah on Sunday. He reiterated that the trio states support the terrorist groups which are present in the Yarmouk camp, and “we want a halt to these supports”. Last month, the PFLP-GC called for immediate military action by the Syrian government to save the civilians of the Yarmouk camp. “Now despite all the efforts made to calm down the situation in Yarmouk camp and start a ceasefire in there, the only solution is immediate and rapid military action,” Spokesman of the PFLP-GC Anwar Raja told FNA. He underlined that the ceasefire plan between the Palestinian groups and Syrian militants has failed in Yarmouk refugee camp because the Qatari and Saudi mercenaries as well as the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas have decided to stay in Yarmouk and continue the war. In December, terrorists targeted residential areas in Yarmouk camp. A homemade rocket launched by terrorists fell on people’s houses near the Yarmouk sport club in Alazizia neighborhood, killing a civilian and causing massive fire. Last year, the PFLP-GC took Israel responsible for the Syrian rebels’ attacks on the Palestinian camps in Syria. Raja announced at the time that the terrorist groups in Syria have attacked Al-Rihan Palestinian military camp in Eastern Al-Ghouta neighborhood on the outskirts of Damascus and tried to seize the camp's control. He said that the attacks were ordered by Israel, and added that Tel Aviv and armed groups are trying to undermine the anti-Israel resistance front in Syria and the region. Raja said that Zionists and the terrorist groups backed by them are angry at PFLP's key role in confronting the recent Israeli war on Gaza and also in preventing Palestinian engagement in the current crisis in Syria. Earlier, the PFLP-GC said in a statement that the training camp "functioned for over 30 years as a base of resistance, graduating thousands of Palestinian youth and hundreds of guerrillas who have humiliated the Zionist enemy with important operations".
