
The European Parliament approved EU-wide airline passenger data monitoring and debated other anti-terror measures supported by the EPP Group during the latest Strasbourg plenary. Parliament also backed a report calling for more action on the migrant crisis, and the EPP Group called for a hearing on the Panama Papers tax avoidance scandal. EPP Group Chair Manfred Weber also noted better cooperation with Turkey on the migrant crisis but also called on President Erdogan to respect civil freedoms in Turkey as well as Europe.
