Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday that the parliament will complete its five years term, which will strengthen the democratic institutions.“It’s the honour for the present government that it has completed its 45 months and will complete the five year term given to it by the people of Pakistan,” he said while addressing the 100th meeting of the federal cabinet in Karachi. Gilani said it is the first federal cabinet of the democratic government that had held 100 meetings in 45 months and today it completed the century. “It’s the best way to pay homage to father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah that the democratic government has completed 45 months.”The prime minister said the elected government has been following the principles of Quaid-e-Azam and is taking all decisions through consultation with the elected representatives.He urged the nation to follow the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and forge unity in their ranks to overcome the challenges facing Pakistan.Accompanied by Sindh Governor Dr Isharul Abad Khan, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and members of the federal cabinet, Gilani visited the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam.National anthem was played by children clad in regional attires on this occasion when the Prime Minister entered the mausoleum.“My message to the people of Pakistan is that we must forge unity in our ranks. If we imbibe the Quaid’s message of unity, faith and disciple, there is no challenge too insurmountable to be overcome and no one would dare cast an evil eye on the country’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity. On this auspicious day, we should pledge and resolve to work whole-heartedly and dedicatedly to build a strong and prosperous Pakistan. Patriotism, dedicated work and selfless service for the great glory of Pakistan could be the most befitting tribute to the memory of Quaid-e-Azam.” Gilani said Quaid’s exemplary courage, statesmanship, lofty vision and dedication to the cause of Muslims of South Asia made it possible for us to be citizens of a free, independent and sovereign Islamic country.
