Ramallah - QNA

Secretary of the Palestine Liberation Organization's Executive Committee Yasser Abed Rabbo Monday said that negotiations with Israel are going on a one-way street. He told the (Voice of Palestine) that there are no real negotiations going on with Israel at the moment. "There is one party negotiating, and that is us, while the other party is not proposing anything that goes in line with international legitimacy and law," (WAFA) news agency quoted Abed Rabbo as saying. He said Israel "responds to us not at the negotiating table, but with its bulldozers, settler hooliganism and all kinds of violations in Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque and everywhere else." Abed Rabbo said US Secretary of State John Kerry is arriving this week to salvage the negotiations, which appear to have reached a critical deadlock. "The Americans are talking about negotiations and that we should give it some time, but we have to first see that they have truly started," he said, adding "We have not as of yet started any serious negotiations." Abed Rabbo said the Palestinian leadership is considering going to the United Nations Security Council, "not to file a complaint, rather to demand from the Security Council and the international community to take serious action against Israel and its violations." He said that this is the only way that would force Israel to start worrying about the consequences of its actions in the occupied territories.
