Palestinian Consul General in Alexandria Hossam el Dabbas
Alexandria - Arab Today

Palestinian Consul General in Alexandria Hossam el Dabbas urged international organizations to release Palestinian prisoners and grant children their rights.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Palestinian diplomat said today marks the Palestinian Children's Day, commemorated on the 5th of April each year. This day highlights the horrific treatment of Palestinian children by the occupying Israeli authorities.

On this day, Palestinian children should seek their freedom and the right to live in dignity like other world children, added the statement.

Palestinian children are still suffering from lack of their simplest rights of enjoying their innocent childhood, the statement read.

The statement also highlighted a report prepared by the World Movement for Defending Palestinian Children in which it outlined the inhumane practices by the Israeli occupants against the Palestinian children.

In January, as many as 223 children were taken prisoners by the Israeli occupation forces, the report said, noting that the number increased to reach up to 300 children.
