Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh has welcomed Russia''s decision to vote for full membership of Palestine in the UN Security Council. Abu Rudeineh comments came after remarks attributed to a member of the Russian delegation at the United Nations in which he stressed that Russia will support the Palestinian bid for full UN membership if the question is presented for a vote within the Security Council. "If the question will be presented for a vote (within the Security Council), we will support it," the Russian news agency (Interfax) cited a Russian delegation source as saying in New York. On Friday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly on the world community to support his bid for membership in the UN and for statehood, describing it as support for truth.
