A prominent Pakistani politician blasted Islamabad's cooperation with the US in its alleged war on terrorism, and took Washington responsible for growing terrorist moves in the Muslim state.Speaking to FNA in Lahore, Former president of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (Pakistan Islamic Community) Qazi Hossein Ahmad said that Pakistan is now being punished for its alliance with the US and compliance with Washington's wrong policies. "The US has a hand in all terrorist acts, bloodsheds, law-breakings and law disorders in Pakistan," he noted. "The US is trying to find an excuse for attacking Pakistan in a bid to compensate for its failures in Afghanistan," the politician stated. Senior Pakistani politicians have repeatedly cautioned about the heavy costs of Pakistan's participation in the US alleged war on terrorism, and demanded the country's officials to step out of the costly war. Earlier, President of Pakistan's Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rahman warned the government in Islamabad about the heavy costs of partnership with the US. "Today the whole country (Pakistan) is paying the costs of this policy," Fazl-Ur-Rahman told FNA on Monday, urging the Pakistani government to have the country's national interests in mind when making decisions. The United States' alleged war on terrorism has claimed the lives of 35,000 Pakistani citizens and soldiers and inflicted over $70 billion of damage on the country.
