Islamabad - KUNA

The cabinet of the Pakistani northern province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) approved the establishment of an anti-terrorism task force, following the death of law minister in a suicide attack. Chief Minister of KPK Pervez Khattak, in a special meeting of the cabinet, approved the establishment of an anti-terrorism task force which would be led by the Inspector General of Police and comprise members of all law enforcement and intelligence agencies including Army and paramilitary. According to officials, the cabinet has also demanded of the federal government to return the paramilitary Frontier Constabulary's platoons back to the province so that they can be deployed at sensitive places for controlling law and order and fighting terrorism. The cabinet in another decision called upon the federal government to pace up the peace talks process with militants that were agreed by all the major political and military leadership in All Parties Conference (APC). The provincial law minister was killed along with seven other people during a suicide attack on his residence in DI Khan on Wednesday, first day of Eid Al Adha. KPK province has been a target of militancy for many years.
