Ankara - Irna

Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu here Friday voiced his opposed stand to foreign military intervention in Syria’s internal affairs. According to the IRNA correspondent in Turkey, the OIC chief made the comment in an exclusive interview with Turkey’s state news agency, Anadolu (Anatoly). He emphasized that in order to be clarified what is to be done, and what is not to be done in Syria we need to observe patience. The OIC head added, “All the same, I believe what is not to be done in Syria, is foreign military intervention.” According to Dr. Ihsanoglu, foreign military intervention, the way it was done in Libya, or the way it was practiced in Iraq, would none be leading towards problem solving in Syria. Syrians continued their mass marches and activities on Friday to stress their adherence to national unity and support to national stances and the reform program led by President Bashar al-Assad. Participating in 'We Won't Forgive, We Won't Forget' activity, huge crowds of Tartous citizens gathered along the city's downtown in an expression of their steadfastness in the face of the foreign pressures and interferences and the conspiracies hatched against their homeland. The event was organized by the National Unity Convoy in cooperation with representatives of popular and youth organizations in the coastal governorate. Chanting pro-reform slogans, the participants carried posters of President Bashar al-Assad and banners expressing their adherence to national unity in the face of challenges and rejection of the Arab and western economic sanctions imposed on Syria. People of al-Dreikish area and the neighboring towns in Tartous governorate gathered in the Municipality's Square to express commitment to Syria's pan-Arab and national stances and the reform program led by President al-Assad. In Banias city, youth crowds staged a sit-in to refute the false allegations of the misinforming media channels and to stress the awareness of the Syrians and their support to the reform program. Meanwhile, citizens of al-Malikiyeh city in Hasaka, northeastern Syria, streamed into the city's main square to express rejection of foreign interference in the Syrian people's internal affairs vowing to remain steadfast and united and not to bow to foreign pressures and sanctions. The participants voiced rejection of the AL decisions and sanctions, reiterating adherence to Syria's independent national decision and determination to confront the conspiracy targeting their homeland. In an embodiment of the solid national unity among the Syrian people, people of Damascus of all spectrums flocked to the squares of Saba Bahrat and al-Hijaz, carrying national flags and chanting slogans calling for standing as one and working together to confront the challenges facing their country. The participants hailed the sacrifices made by the Syrian Army in confronting the armed terrorist groups, expressing rejection of foreign interference attempts and support for the comprehensive reform program. A massive rally was held in Saadallah al-Jaberi Square in the northern province of Aleppo in which the participants voiced their commitment to the sovereignty of Syria and the independence of its national decision in the face of attempts at foreign interference.
