State Minister for Women’s Rights Affairs, Jean Ogassapian, on Thursday visited Barbar Khazen prison for women in Verdun, checking out their conditions and listening to their demands. 


Minister Ogassapian explained, "The catastrophic circumstances that woman lives push her to commit crimes.It is the state’s duty to provide her support and safety." 


He added that his ministry would set campaigns of awareness for women across Lebanese regions to teach women and enlighten them towards making use of law and judiciary to gain their rights and punish those harming them instead of resorting to powerful reactions
