A mosque named after late Asma’a bint Jassim Al-Buainain was opened in the area of Askar. The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa.
Sunni Endowments Council Chairman Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajeri opened the mosque in the presence of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) Secretary-General Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Shomali. Al-Hajeri paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for designating several land plots as endowments to construct mosques. Shaikh Mohammed bin Ali Ali-Khalifa said that Shaikha Amna bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa had made a donation to construct the mosque, which covers 445 square metres, in memory of her late mother.
