The Green Party in Morocco declared on Tuesday that they are to charge website "Lakom" with defamation, due to a published report that Mohammed Fares, the party's general coordinator , had benefited from illegal transportation licenses given to him by the former government. The party said it was a "fabricated allegation", and questioned why Fares was mentioned as a Green Party member while Abd Al-Bari Al-Zamzami was cited without mentioning his association with the Al-Nahda Al-Fadila party. A human rights activist said to Arabstoday: "By following the logic of the statement, all Moroccan press institutions and journalists along with minister Abdel Aziz Rabah (who leaked the names of the alleged beneficiaries) can be charged." Meanwhile, opposition MPs are demanding the government reveal the names of beneficiaries granted fishing licenses in the Atlantic Ocean, a request the government has ignored until now.
