Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the payment of a bonus amounting to AED33.28 million to Emirati citizens whose taxicab number plates are operated by the Dubai Taxi Corporation and Taxi Franchise Companies at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The total number of the number plates is 6656.
The amount ordered marks a 25% increase from last year’s bonus. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will start distribution of the 2015 bonus to the entitled recipients, over and above their annual financial dues from this week.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA thanked Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid for rewarding taxi plate owners, who are part of the fixed income group, and enabling them to better cope with the requirements of life and decent living for them and their families.
"This bonus is one of several other generous gestures we are accustomed to from His Highness that are a true testament to the support accorded by Sheikh Mohammed to his people and the attention he pays to their social affairs and living conditions, particularly those with fixed incomes. It also illustrates the attention made to provide good living to all members of the community, and articulates the prevailing social solidarity concepts among individuals," added Al Tayer.
