The diplomatic action should take account of mutations under way and adjust to the new era’s requirements so as to foster its efficiency, said, Thursday in Rabat, Foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar. “We are witnessing an exceptional time in history as it is the time of big changes and we are glad to be following the world’s mutations to lay the bases, through diplomacy, of relations adjusted to the 21st century,” he said at a reception held in honor of the diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco on the occasion of the new year and the Eid Al Mawlid annabawi asharif (birth of prophet). Morocco wants to be an actor of these mutations and be among the countries in phase with the new realities. It also seeks to lay the bases of solid ties and build with our partners lasting relations based on values, he added. The dean of ambassadors accredited to Morocco Ismaila Nimaga, ambassador of the central African republic, hailed the Moroccan diplomacy which he described as active, saying that, ever since HM the King made south-south cooperation a lever of development and growth, “we have been confident that this diplomacy will make headway.”
