The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) has tried to locate and rescue a missing fishing vessel registered in Egypt. The army has been involved in the search and rescue operation for 48 hours, reported the website of Malta Today on Sunday. The Egyptian Consulate for Malta made an initial call for assistance after the crew's relatives raised the alarm. None of the family members of the eight-man crew on board had made any contact with the crew over the past few days. The AFM rendered assist as required and deployed a maritime patrol aircraft and a patrol boat. Neighboring rescue coordination centers were also informed of the situation.
