The Lebanese should not allow the conflict in Syria to spill over into the country, said Lebanon's President Michel Suleiman here Thursday. This statement came from Suleiman's office as a reaction to the assassination of Syrian state media commentator Mohammad Darrar Jamo who was killed in southern Lebanon yesterday. Suleiman called on the security forces to increase effort to find those who assassinated Jamo, affirming that bringing back stability to the country was a top priority for the authorities in Lebanon. On a separate account, French President Francois Hollande contacted President Suleiman recently, thanking him for Lebanon's continuous efforts to aid the Syrian refugees in the country. The French leader also touched on his country's efforts to hold the friends of Syria conference next September on the sideline of the UN regular General Assembly dedicated to the Syrian refugees issue.
