
Lebanese Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour met here today with Irish Minister of State for Trade and Development Joe Costello who is currently visiting Beirut . The two sides reviewed the issue of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and aspects of assistance that can be provided by Ireland in this area. Following the meeting, Costello said that his visit was aimed to identify the situation of refugees and the effects of their large number on the infrastructure in Lebanon and services. He said he would leave Beirut carrying messages to his government, the European Union, the United Nations and the World Bank about the situation in Lebanon, the impact of displaced Syrians and the necessity that the international community should support this country to face the repercussions of this crisis.
