Washington - Fars

Chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi once again rejected Washington's accusation about Iran's involvement in a terror plot in the US, and asked the White House officials to present corroborative evidence to Tehran to substantiate their allegations.Speaking to FNA, Boroujerdi said that if the US officials have evidence about the alleged plot, they had better present it to Iran through their interests section in the Swiss embassy. If they do so, "we would prove the plot is fabricated and unreal", he reiterated. "Americans know better than anyone else that the alleged terror plot against the Saudi envoy is just a fabricated scenario and a game in pursuit of political objectives," Boroujerdi reiterated. In a new plot against Tehran, the US officials alleged on Tuesday that Tehran had intended to assassinate a Saudi envoy to Washington through a hitman from the notorious Mexican drug cartel, los Zetas. Yesterday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry dismissed the US accusations for a third time, and stressed that the claims had no "legal rationale." The ministry said in a statement that the Iranian government has no connection to Manssor Arbabsiar. The statement further derided the claims, saying that US officials have put forward no proof. "Unilaterally announcing accusations without showing documentation and creating a media wave against Iran is in no way compatible with legal logic, and can only be a purely media and political show," it said. It said the accusations were "put together based on statements, guesses and suppositions by individuals involved in drug smuggling" and would never stand up in an "appropriate, impartial courtroom". Meantime, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday warned the US to avoid taking "inappropriate action" over its baseless allegations about Iran's involvement in an assassination plot, saying that Tehran would give a crushing response to any unwise move. "If American officials are entertaining any illusions, they should know that any inappropriate action - whether political or security-related - will meet with the Iranian people's decisive response," he said in a speech in western Iran. The Leader, who has already labeled the plot claims "absurd," warned, "The Islamic Republic of Iran will confront any plot, or destructive or obstructive measures, with all its might.
