He made the remarks during his address at the closing ceremony of the 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada. “Iran’s revolutionary leaders have always had defending the Palestinian intifada on their agenda throughout past decades,” Larijani as chairman of the 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada emphasized. He pointed out that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary figures have always pondered about the Palestinian cause and deemed as an important issue for Muslim World. “The Palestinian cause has always been of paramount importance for Iran’s revolutionary people even before the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution,” Larijani added. The 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada was attended by parliamentary delegations and headed by dignitaries, including several speakers, leading political figures and scholars from 50 Muslim and non-Muslim countries, as well as leaders of several Palestinian groups. The conference opened in Tehran on Saturday morning. The two-day conference had the motto of “Palestine, a land only for Palestinians.” Larijani stressed that not only Iran’s popular uprising in 1979 but also ongoing regional revolutions including Tunisian, Egyptian and Libyan revolutions have been prompted by the Palestinian brave moves against big powers. “Region’s revolutionary countries owe to the Palestinian freedom movements and the Palestinian nation as well.
